Renew Dallas!!
Ok…for about a year now I have been hearing the most amazing things about Ginny Corbett of Ginny Corbett Photography. I have since then been trying to keep up with her blog and just soak in all she has to offer. I now have the perfect opportunity to actually go to one of her workshops! I can’t believe it!!!
I am in the process of trying to figure out my niche so to speak and not be so intimidated by everything else going on around me. In the town I live in it just seems everyone is a photographer. I want to be able to say I am a professional…not just another girl with a nice camera. I want to make my fellow photogs proud.
I am only a “part-time” photographer. But it is all i think about… I am constantly browsing new vendors, reading blogs, driving to find the perfect spots around town, or trying something different on my camera. I find myself thinking, “Oooo that is one awesome spot for a photo!” Or “This light would be perfect for….”
I love that I can capture the beauty of an individual, the passion of a newly engaged couple, the innocence of a child, or the love in a mother’s eyes. And I could go on….
I love this life God has given me and the talents He has bestowed upon me. I do not take that lightly. I want to use everything I have to please Him and to let others see the beauty He has placed within them.

I know exactly how you feel. I also felt like I didn’t know my niche a couple of years ago. I hope you can come to Renew-Dallas. I’d love to chat with you more about it. If God is for you, who can be against you?
Hey girl! I know EXACTLY how you feel about trying to not be so intimidated & figuring out your ‘niche.’ I feel that way right now. :) But just know that you are a kick butt photographer & although it’s so easy to get intimidated by others in your town, try not to worry so much about what they’re doing & what their photography looks like, etc. Just keep on researching different places to shoot & playing around with your camera and keep rocking it out! :D Everyone looks so happy in your photos & they all look AMAZING. I went to Renew Lubbock & learned so so so much that completely helped me with where I want to go in my business & helped me feel so much more confident in my abilities to take amazing pictures, so if you have the chance definitely go to Renew. :)
HELLO!! I attended RENEW – Lubbock, and just wanted you to know that it is TOTALLY worth it. For me going into RENEW, I was just as you described “ just another girl with a nice camera”. RENEW taught me how to use my “fancy” camera, how to quickly and effectively edit lots of photos, and most importantly it opened my eyes to MY heart. For me, I could have not learned ALL that I did (about my camera, editing, etc.) and it would still have been worth it for me, because of the people that attended and the friendship I will carry on, and just stopping the hectic life I live to LISTEN to my heart. The encouragement and support you have at the class will continue on after, and it is so heart warming. Leaving RENEW I was a photographer, and I truly felt that in my heart I am finally going in the right direction.
P.S. Ginny is amazing, but you all ready know that…. Best of LOVE!

Hi Rebecca,
I saw your post about the Renew workshop. I just attended this amazing workshop last week in Lubbock. Like you, I’m also new to photography. Once I got into it, I quickly realized that it seemed everybody in my city of 225,000 wanted to be a photographer as well! With that realization came HUGE discouragement and insecurity about my level of skill and talent!
I did a Brainwash session with Lauren Clark last fall. She’s actually how I came to know Ginny Corbett. It’s so funny how God can just open doors of opportunity without you even realizing it!
I went to Renew so eager to learn everything and anything that could help me find my own personal style and give me more confidence as a photographer. First off, Ginny as a person is one of the most fun and relaxing people to be around! From the moment I walked through the door I felt as though I’d known her for years! As the other ladies began to make their way into the meeting room I felt my confidence start to shrink. In my mind I couldn’t help but size everyone up just by their fancy bags of gear thrown over their shoulder. Luckily, Ginny started the workshop by telling her own personl story. That in and of itself made me start to feel more like I belonged there, and then my mind started to fill with thoughts like “Hey, you can do this, you ARE good enough!” Then, something amazing happened, GInny gave each attendee 10 minutes to share their story. Wow, who would have thought that almost every single woman in the room was exactly where I was at? As each of us shared our stories, you could just feel the atmosphere in the room change!
Renew was EXACTLY what I needed! I learned so many invaluable things that I know will help me become a better photographer, as well as a wife and mother. I was spending so much time editing that it was taking away from my family. Ginny showed us how to cut that time drastically! As a christian, it was so obvious that Ginny has a servants heart :) She went above and beyond what I was expecting! If you can make it to Renew, DO IT! You’ll be so glad that you did!
SIncerely,
Leah

Hi! I attended Renew-NC, and it is probably the thing I am most thankful for since I started my business last June. I have never felt so encouraged, motivated, and excited about my photography. I not only learned a lot about taking pictures, editing, and running my business well, but I also learned to have the courage to make business and my photographs my own. Ginny is amazing and Renew is amazing. If you can go, I would highly encourage it. It’s just the biggest blessing. I am so thankful!
