OK…hopefully this is the start of a long list of blog posts I want to update from last year…I know, last year. I will really try to do better this year.

She and her mom met with me during the summer to figure out a time for her Senior portraits. We know each other from church. I did pictures for her Sweet 16 party…it was hard to believe that is had already been two years and that she was graduating! We had so much fun driving around downtown Wichita Falls and to Lucy Park. She was really nervous at first but loosened up in no time and I was able to capture her breath-taking beauty. If you ask her now she will promise her eyes look purple LOL!

Hope you enjoyed her session :) There were too many to choose from because she is just sooooo photogenic :) I am wanting to do a Senior Rep program where you can earn free products/prints if you refer your friends for a Senior Portrait session with me. So many things have changed since I last posted on the blog. I have so many sessions to show you…goodness!! I just don’t where to start…

I guess I’ll start with how my life has changed this past year…HERE I GO!!

Jeremy and I found out we were expecting on March 31st, 2011, the one year anniversary of us moving into our house!!

My little sister married her best friend on July 16, 2011. My older sister came in town early and we decorated the whole reception area and the whole sanctuary the day before the wedding. I told my little sister she was CRAZY for picking a day in the middle of the summer in the middle of the HOTTEST heat spell Wichita Falls has seen!! It was a HOT HOT HOT summer day for her two pregnant sisters!!! Yes, my older sister and I were pregnant at the same time!! Pretty cool for family pictures huh??  Rachel Blackwell of Rachel Blackwell Photography took some amazing shots that day!! I know she was glad not to be from Texas that day! It got up to 115 degrees!! My sister looked so beautiful and I cried as she walked down the isle. Maybe it was the hormones…but I was just so happy for her!

Jeremy and I took our 2nd anniversary trip to Orlando, FL in Septemer. Had an amazing time in Downtown Disney. We came back refreshed and ready to meet our little one.

I became an Aunt again the week before Thanksgiving on November 15, 2011 when my older sister had her baby boy Brady Alton Harrison. She was 4 days ahead of me during our pregnancies. He is the only boy in our family, so she is having a very exciting time learning the ropes again :) Her daughter Megan is such a great big sister and a big help to her mom. She loves her little brother! All my family got to meet Brady before I did because well at 38 weeks pregnant, you can’t really travel…or do much of anything!!! Although, I did my last portrait session 5 days before I was induced HA!! Oh and my mom came back on Thanksgiving day just in case I went into labor.

Our daughter Alexis Berkley Cain was born December 1, 2011 at 7:33pm, weighing 8lbs 4oz and measuring 20 in long. She is perfect in everyway! I can’t stop kissing her and holding her and loving her!

We had a very full December/Christmas season! Our church choir concert was 10 days after I had Alexis. The week after that our Children’s Choir put on a small drama and Alexis was nominated to play baby Jesus. Alexis’ first Christmas was wonderful with our families! We spent Christmas Eve Eve with Jeremy’s grandpa and new wife. Christmas Eve we spent getting ready for Christmas day. and Christmas day we spent half at my parents house (I finally got to meet Brady :D) and the evening with Jeremy’s parents house.

It’s hard to believe another year has gone by oh so quickly and January is practically over! It seems like yesterday was the day Alexis was born. Now she is almost 2 months!! She is smiling and laughing already and I don’t want to miss a minute!!

I hope this year brings you and your family closer together and you aspire to reach all your goals this year. Do not let a moment pass you by without being completely consumed by it and take pictures of everything because you will never get those moments back…

I am so excited for this new year and am excited to meet some new clients!  I will be starting a new Senior Rep program to earn some free products! I hope this year I can really focus on expanding my clientel and growing my business. Thank you to everyone who has let me snag a piece of their life and give it back to them in a picture. Many good things are coming this year…I just know it!!

Ok…for about a year now I have been hearing the most amazing things about Ginny Corbett of Ginny Corbett Photography. I have since then been trying to keep up with her blog and just soak in all she has to offer. I now have the perfect opportunity to actually go to one of her workshops! I can’t believe it!!!

I am in the process of trying to figure out my niche so to speak and not be so intimidated by everything else going on around me. In the town I live in it just seems everyone is a photographer. I want to be able to say I am a professional…not just another girl with a nice camera. I want to make my fellow photogs proud.
I am only a “part-time” photographer. But it is all i think about… I am constantly browsing new vendors, reading blogs, driving to find the perfect spots around town, or trying something different on my camera. I find myself thinking, “Oooo that is one awesome spot for a photo!” Or “This light would be perfect for….”

I love that I can capture the beauty of an individual, the passion of a newly engaged couple, the innocence of a child, or the love in a mother’s eyes. And I could go on….

I love this life God has given me and the talents He has bestowed upon me. I do not take that lightly. I want to use everything I have to please Him and to let others see the beauty He has placed within them.
